“Wow! How great is our God! He truly
can do anything! He is worthy of all of our praise!
As I think back over our first 4 years, I continue
to be amazed at the way God moves. I have really enjoyed watching Him
pull this group together, watching Him open doors through which we can enter
and be used to encourage and uplift brothers ad sisters in the faith,
and most importantly, watching Him use our ministry to further His kingdom
I love to sit back and think about the things
Stronghold has accomplished in its first few years. We are yet to win
any big awards, hit the top 80 chart for southern gospel music, or to have
been invited to sing at the national quartet convention. We have,
however, sang a lot of great songs, net a lot of great people, shared a lot
of great times, (and only one bad one, but he's feelin' much better now!) we
have shared a lot of laughs, and even shed some tears. Most of all, we
have kept our focus on Jesus, knowing that without having Him at the center
of this ministry, our efforts are for nothing.
I believe the best is yet to come. I am
trusting that God has a lot of great things in store for us, if we continue
to keep Him as our central focus.
Looking forward to a great year ...
God Bless you, Don" |

“I
stand amazed at how awesome God is. Just a few short years ago, I wasn’t
even singing regularly in the church choir. I’m truly blessed that God has
chosen me to be a part of a music ministry that reaches so many people.
Isn’t the Lord good! He knows what He is doing, even when I do not
understand. His ways are truly above ours.
God has so richly blessed me and my family that a lifetime of praises
to Him wouldn’t even begin to give credit where it’s due. I thank my wife,
Julie, for her support of our music ministry. I’m also very thankful for a
great group of men to get together with and make music for the Lord. This
has definitely been an incredible experience, and I pray that God will
continue to use this quartet to spread His good news and touch lives
wherever we go…not for our sakes, but all for His glory. Praise the
Lord!” --- Dennis

“The Lord
has been evident in my life from early on. I grew up in a Christian
household, and at the age of 14 came to a saving knowledge of Christ. There
is no greater love than the love shown for me at Calvary. Though I fail
Christ daily, I will never cease to tell of His great sacrifice. He gave me
a song to sing, and I will share it until the day I stand before Him!
Won’t you go with me? Jesus is the rock that will stand for all
ages. That’s where I find my stronghold. Praise God forever!”

“Our newest release - - Traditions - holds a big piece
of my heart in it. These are the songs I grew up with while my mom
played the piano in church three plus services a week and a good chunk of
the rest of the week at home. As I told her in her Mother's Day card, "I
learned most of the CD while (you) played over the years through sheer
repetition, service after service, ---and she thought I wasn't listening
half the time!!!
The authors of the old hymns may be old-fashioned
by today's standards, but they had a grasp on Bible truths that today's New
Age Music can't touch. The Blood of Jesus, The Grace of God, The
Greatness and Power of God, and The cross are concepts today's pop tune
"Religious Music" hardly addresses. I admit 4-part harmony Southern
Gosper singing is my favorite, "cause that is me!!
The old standards live on and on through the
generations. While sequestered in the recording booth, just me the
music and the headphones, I had church, one-man congregation. And many
of the old hymns were laid down in one take -- a miracle for me!
Thanks, mom, you taught me well ... Dan
